The Designer Of The Year 2010 exhibition featuring Tomasz Augustyniak

Tomasz Augustyniak is the IWP award-winner of the 17^th edition of the Dobry Wzor 2010 (The Good Design) contest by the IWP. The contest aims to look for the best designed products and services in Poland.

Tomasz Augustyniak has made his name as a furniture designer. More than 170 pieces have been taken into regular production and the designs have been exhibited in many places in Poland and abroad. This time his Meee collection of children multisensory furniture set for Vox Meble has gained a recognition for a tremendous combination of talent and professionalism with a recognizable way of design along with a well-developed commercial sense. The About Design! Fair for the very first time in Gdansk

The first one we feature here is the 1994 exhibition by Mikolaj Dlugosz as a sort of reflection over the modern Polish consumer culture. The Homework exhibition in Katowice

The Homework Studio will launch their poster exhibition at the Rondo Sztuki (Katowice), Jan 7^th – 21^th.

The Homework Studio, set up by The ASP Katowice Dean’s Award – winners Joanna Gorska and Jerzy Skakun, has made its name with a lot of smart and funny posters. The graphic form is quite simple and clear, but it takes some time to decode their hidden metaphor behind the plain, but interesting composition. The works of the Homework Studio are often recognized to be the polish second generation of posters. This time, the exhibition will feature all the posters made for some large theatre performances, movies and festivals, as well as the ones designed for the individual clients.

The newest collection by Mariusz Przybylski was presented at the famous Soho Factory and soon turned out to be a succesful one. Przybylski juxtaposed many different fabrics of the same color such as transparent silks, cottons, cashmeres, linen and leather and applied neutral colors such as blacks, greys and whites with some points of intensive marine and greens. The line is supposed to be dedicated to ultra modern men and women with a pinch of creativity in their style. The prints and shoes are designed by Przybylski himself. Have a look!

The Best Art Album and Catalogue 2010 Competition by STGU

Design your very own Christmas

At Dec 12^th, the Cieszyn Castle will be holding a series of design exhibitions. Starting 11 a.m. the Dizajn na zimę. Light my fire exhibition will feature the familiar heaters and radiators in the most untypical way you can ever imagine. The next one at 12^th – Choinka z dziecinstwa (The Christmas Tree from the childhood) will feature all the glass balls and other Christmas accessories by one of the oldest polish glass ball producers Komozja. You can take part in many workshops where you can learn how to make the traditional cieszynian cakes (The Slodkie Warsztaty workshops), make your own woolen socks (The Zrob sobie kopytka na zime workshops) and make some unique Christmas gifts by yourself at the Decoupage workshop. However, if you choose to buy some, you can do this at the KEKS Christmas fair, where you can find a lot of works by local artisans and students of the ASP Katowice.

Silos Falami Fest

The Silos Falami Fest is the first art and design fair in Silesia ever, held at Dec, 11^th – 12^th at the Rondo Sztuki in Katowice. There are over 20 stalls and exhibitions registered as for now and the number is still growing. You can check out the works before at http://silossztuki.pl .

The fair will feature the works of local artisans, designers and students of the ASP Katowice. 15% of the income will be donated for Piotr Mach, who is actually suffering from bone cancer. Fashion Week Poland - Plastikowy

Black cottons and grey viscoses are elastically muffling the bodies so that they remind the raw buildings covered with noble marbles and granites. Plastikowy – Mateusz Wojcik

Born 1989, Plastikowy is one of the youngest polish designers based in Lodz city. His lines are best recognized by the geometric forms he gets inspired by the modern architecture. The collections are supposed to be a series of corresponding creations, where the next one is artistically derived from the previous ones and the fabrics are used as the building materials.

Apart from fashion, he is also keen on graphics and drawing. His first graphic series – the Monsterland – has won him a good following and made his name famous for the creativeness he is pursuing on.

Teresa Rosati in Beverly Hills

Rosati presented her newest, double – collection of gowns The Universe of Women (Wszechswiat Kobiet) at the Beverly Hills Fashion Festival (Nov 6^th). She is the first polish designer to show up in LA.

The first part of the collection – The Best of Teresa Rosati features the best creations of her works from the last 10 years. The second one was made up from two corresponding lines for 2011 – the Classic and the modern one For Weronika. All the lines gained a standing ovation of more than 600 guests for the classic-but-fresh cuts, glamorous colors and silk fabrics such as jacquard, chiffon, satin and taffeta.

The gowns were presented by the British Ford Models Agency models and appeared in the photo shoots of many fashion and lifestyle’s magazines right the day after. The Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising in California has taken the gowns for consideration for the upcoming Oscar Ceremony. Mischa Barton, Paul Sorvino, Laurie Ann Gibson, Jonathan Atkin and Weronika Rosati were all guests at the show.

Rosati’s been known for her charity work and this time, too, she dedicated the whole income from ticket-selling for the St.Vincent's Meals on Wheels.

Award – winners of the Off Fashion (8th edition)

Of over 200 contestants, the jury have chosen 21 finalist that competed for the top three and many other prizes. The first prize was given to Halina Mrozek, the second to Shumik 100%, the third one to Pawel Swierczynski. Aneta Zielinska was awarded with the scholarship of the Koefia Academy (Rome), Marta Gozdz was honoured with the Talent Prize by the Hexeline co. and Halina Mrozek (the 1^st award winner) was also awarded with the high – quality sewing machine from the MediaMarkt.

The contestants Beata Guzinska, Magdalena Stepnik – Kozlowska, Shumik 100%, Halina Mrozek, Witalije Malyszko, Sylwia Kawinska and Jacek Klosinski are all supposed to show their collection at the upcoming Warsaw Fashion Street.

The Spirit of Poland exhibition at the Tokyo Design Week – Tokyo likes the polish design!

The Tokyo Design Week has come to an end and all we can say is that Tokyo really likes the polish design J

The polish exhibition, held under the patronage of the Embassy of Poland in Japan and the Cieszyn Castle, featured the designs of the most significant brands such as the Aze Design, the Kafti Design, the Studio Beton and the Puff Buff . As this year’s theme of the TDW was The Environment, polish designs were highly appreciated for their creativity and a baby–like sense of humor when it comes to the modern technology and the eco and water–friendly solutions in every single design. And that’s what Tokyo likes!

It can be said that Poland and Japan have been somehow blended with each other for several days. Just to mention several designs displayed at the exhibition, the lamps by Kafti Design were created to form a complex form just like the Japanese Origami and the futuristic ones by Puff Buff seemed to merge up with the minimalistic interiors of many Japan houses. The single pieces of everyday use designed by the Studio Beton have been well applauded for their unconventional and innovative forms.

“The Spirit of Poland” has represented and showed up all the most distinctive features of Poland in the very way the Japanese percept it as the country with the rich culture and art that has given birth to their beloved Chopin. Inspired by the most polish spirit and displayed with the newest digital and IT, the exhibition has gained an enormous following at the TDW.

Make your city a better place to live Nov 5th – 30th, Katowice

The students of the ASP Cracow, the ASP Katowice, the Pedagogical University of Cracow, the Ecole Supérieure d’Art et Design (Saint-Etienne) and the Bauhaus – Universtaet (Weimar) now gather together to take part in a series of discussion about the role of the sustainable design in the public space that comes along with the “Make your city a better place to live” exhibition (Katowice, the Rondo Sztuki Gallery).

The aim is to come up with the ideas and designs that will make the city, noisy and polluted as it is, a more sustainable place to live . The exhibition features the designs that are supposed to be both public – applicable and sustainable, such as the fabric-made moving stairways, the eco – friendly chewing gum rubbish bin, the graphic project “Kampania Przeciwko Przeklinaniu” (Against Cursing) and the pure theoretical script project “C’mmon Energy”. The discussions and lectures will be given by the professionals from all the participating universities such as Piotr Bozyk (the ASP Cracow), Bartosz Mucha (the POOR Design), Markus Schlaffke (the Bauhaus), Baptiste Menu and Fabien Combe (the Ecole Supérieure d’Art et Design) .

The exhibition and the discussion series available Nov 5^th – 30^th at the Rondo Sztuki Gallery, Katowice.

The whole project is held by the French – German Fund, the Goethe – Institut and the Institute of France (Cracow).

The Capsule featuring Poznan’s energy and style

The innovative Capsule (“Kapsula”) designed by the MOA group is promoting the Poznan city around the world along with the slogan “Poznan. Eastern energy, Western style”.

The Capsule is the place where you can just sit and have a rest for a while, charge your phone battery, drink some coffee and even have a short business or relaxing talk. It’s equipped with two LCDs and folders presenting the city of Poznan itself. The aim is to show the city as a complex space where you can both have a nice time as well as be given all you need to develop your business.

The design has been developed with the idea of merging the modern, futuristic and multifunctional form with the simplicity when it comes to the installation, displaying and logistics. The Capsule has been presented successfully at the Recycling and Waste Management Exhibition in the UK, the Viscom Show in Paris, the IFA Berlin, the Milan Fashion Week and will be soon available to the visitors of the next Poznan Fairs.

The Fashion Week Poland Rising Star Award winner – Jacek Mroczkowski

The Good Design Foundation and the designedinpoland.org have awarded Jacek Mroczkowski’s graduate collection with the Rising Star Award for the unique sweaters with a pinch of modern sculpture and the good hand – made job. Thus, the collection will be available at the Aliganza's showroom (13th Andersa street, Warsaw) for 3 months.

The name of the collection itself – Unikatowa odzież z ręcznie wyrabianego filcu (the unique clothing made from the hand – made felt) - has drawn our attention. It’s quite a weird and long one as for a name for a fashion line, but it soon proved to be the only one that matches the creations that turned up one after another on the runway.

The felt was indeed hand – made, felted up by the designer himself from the natural, undyed and domestic sheep wool. The fabric was then, as Mroczkowski said, sculptured into the cocoon – like sweaters and mixed up with the pants, skirts and accessories (hand – made too!) that reveal the inspirations from the folklore, subcultures and street fashion. The line is dedicated to the strong and self – conscious women no matter of age and occupation that are ready to take an adventure with the long – forgotten felt.

"Model IDEALny" (The Ideal Model) exhibition at the Cieszyn Castle

The editorial designs review EDIT 2010 at the 3F Studio

The editorial designs review EDIT 2010 is about to take place for the very first time in Poland at the 3F Studio (28b Nowolipki str., Warsaw).

The opening of the exhibition will be held at Nov 18^th, 8.00 pm and preceded by the series of lectures Idee – Inspiracje – Innowacje (Ideas – Inspirations – Innovations) given by the top editorial designers and professionals from Poland and all over the world such as Kuchar Swara, Jacek Utko, Michal Kobosko and the famous blogger Jeremy Leslie (MagCulture.com). The lectures start at 14.00 (open).

The Smooth Criminal by Jagoda Piekarska

The Smooth Criminal collection by Jagoda Piekarska seems to be revealing the darkest side of the designer herself. It’s dedicated to the strong, self – conscious but mysterious and extremely sensual women who knows no hesitation when it comes to her passion and desires . The line itself presents a series of juxtapositions of dark and subtle colors with the fabrics of different textures. Blacks, navies, powder roses and beiges, raw silks, perforated leather, suede and knitwear are all put together in order to show up the feminine curves in a definite ascetic way.

The line was presented the first time at the Fashion Week Poland and was inspired by the Mellani Pullen’s photo series High fashion crime scenes. The collection is available at the Blind Concept Store, Mokotowska street 63, Warsaw, Poland.

Fashion Week Poland – the MMC

Raw as she is – the woman by MMC seems to be still the same one she was supposed to be from the very beginning. The new line presented at Fashion Week Poland applies only four colors – black, white, cool beige and metallic grey. Along with geometrical cuts and draperied sleeves the MMC created a modern but very classic look at the same time.

This year they gathered together all the works exhibited during the last three years into one exhibition named The 6:10 and uncovered each item in the new way it has never been presented before.

Just to refresh, the first exhibition Game – artist vs. craftsmen (2008) raised an discussion about the role of the contemporary artist with the focus on their personal conditions and the environment that influences their activity and works. The second one Jewellery has to be beautiful, or at least wise (2009) touched upon the question if the gender of the work could be determined in an unequivocal way depended on the gender of the artist. The last one, the It is another love song about death (2010) took up a subject of the way the artist have to choose when it comes to create about death.

There are more and more fashion designers engaged in other areas of design in Poland. Maciej Zien created the ceramics tiles for Tubadzin, Mariusz Przybylski designed the exclusive notebook cases for Toshiba Portege and, last but not least, Eva Minge has been pretty succesful with the interiors - just to mention her cooperation with the Classen floor panels and the Dekoral wall paints. This time Minge designed the complete interior of the over 200m2 house for the Villa Natura investiment project. Even the curtains are created by herself. All is covered with noble black and ivory tiles springled with glass and clear crystals, warm noyer wood, leather, soft velvet and shiny chrome surfaces. the aim was to create a modern and high - technology interior with a pinch of fashion style. The Spirit of Poland in Tokyo 29th Oct - 03rd Nov

Starting on 29th October 2010, the polish industrial designers will take part in the prestigious annual Tokyo Designers Week.

The exhibition named The Spirit of Poland is about to cover the most innovative young polish brands in the industrial and enviromental design such as the AZE, BETON, KAFTI and the PUFF - BUFF. The participants will also take part in the EU Gateway Programme, which is an interior design business mission held by the European Commision.

Fashion Week Poland – Lukasz Jemiol

The Jemiol’s ss 2011 collection is all about uncovering the dress in many different ways. The Greek – Goddess like draperies, the shiny patches falling down with the opaque ones, the sequins drowned modestly under the delicate laces, the resolute, puritan cuts and the both energetic and discreet juxtaposes all define Jemiol’s woman to be modern and sensual at the same time. The silks, cottons, jerseys, cashmeres and leather all glided along the runway. Again, Jemiol worked with the greys and beiges he’s been loved for, mixing them with the noble black, deep blues and the energetic pinks, corals and oranges.

The collection was presented both at the Lisbon and Lodz Fashion Week and was well applauded by both the polish and foreign guests at the shows.

Lodz Design Festival – make me! awards 2010

make me! competition was announced in order to find out and promote the most creative products by the young designers. The previous editions also proved the initiative to be the must-have project and one of the most attractive exhibition at the Festival. The items are often presented for their very first time. All is about showing up the works and getting the professional feedbacks.

Jacek Mroczkowski

Graduated at the ASP Lodz in 2009, Mroczkowski gained the recognition almost instantly during the studies. His bachelor’s graduate collection “Przekrecona” (the Awry or Overturned) gained the Dean’s Award and many many others and now his master’s collection “Unikatowa odziez z recznie wykonanego filcu” (the Unique clothing made from the hand – made felt) was awarded with the Ministry of Culture’s and the Rising Star by the Foundation of Good Design and the designedinpoland.org awards.

Although focused on the womenswear, Mroczkowski plans to develop his menswear line applying the same philosophy he was successful with. The fashion must be wearable and comfortable, blending with the personality and needs of the people he dresses. All the fabrics and accessories are mainly hand – made and keenly selected. Apart from designing, he is also a keen sculptor and a certificated shoe – maker.

Eva Minge’s Solidarity at the New York FW

Eva Minge’s RTW SS 2011collection at the New York FW has caught more than attention. The fashion press all over the world such as the Vogue, Forbes, Glamour, Reuters, Madame Figaro, GQ or L’Officiel has been covering her previous HC show at the Paris FW, but now they all gathered in NY and applauded the newest collection as an extremely modern, sexy and beautifulone at the same time.

Just 30 minutes after the show all the biggest fashionblogs have acclaimed Eva Minge to be the New designer to wear. Minge combined all the shades of sand, beiges and rusty-red colors with definitely unique forms, cuts and details, such as the big, angular glasses, slack, spatial bags and shoes. Warm suedes, leather, cottons mixed up with all the light, shiny white patches and meringue – shape tulles has made the collection unforgettable for many viewers at the show.

The collection was inspired by the Solidarity (Solidarity comes fashion) movement that has changed Poland in an thorough way over 30 years ago. Graduated in 2003, Parol made his way into the fashion world with many extraordinary collections and appearances. Starting with the creations designed for the music videos, foreign magazines coverage and the lucrative cooperation with the Nivea and the Forget – Me – Not fashion house, ending with the Oskary Mody and the Warsaw Fashion Street 2007, he is now considered as one of the most original and avant – garde young designers in Poland.

Rage Age in Tsarist Russia

If you look at the official photos of the newest collection of Rage Age by Rafal Czapul, you get the impression that there are still men who hold both the guns and the pen at the same time. All was inspired by the story of Erast Fandorin the detective (by Boris Akunin), who tramp along all the wide and raw plants of the Tsarist Russia in his ultra stylish and menly – glamorous way.

The separate vests, the furry papakhi and the suspenders are re-invented again. The single and double – breasted jacket are well tailored and fitted to the body, the velvet insertions in the flared coats underline some kind of forgotten classic elegance and help in keeping the warmth. All mixed up with sporty riding – breeches and loose shirts and accompanied with the only high – class accessories.

Graduate of the ASP Warsaw in Graphic Design, Maciejak is considered as one of the most interesting and original – thinking fashion designer in Poland. Jacek Utko

Based in Warsaw. After obtaining an architectural degree, he began his career as an architect. Feeling disappointed, he decided to venture into various fields, including interior design, set design for film production and finaly graphic design.

After a few years, he became the art director for Puls Biznesu (a newspaper run by Swedish Bonnier Business Press), and then later advanced as the design director for the whole BBP group for eight Central European countries. Despite working with small newspapers with small staffs and small budgets, he collected more than forty awards in various design competitions within a few years. He was a speaker for various seminars, including SND conference. In 2009 he was a speaker at TED conference in Long Beach. Recently he works a lot on web design.

The MMC brand was established in 1995 and was one of the first designer label in Poland. The name comes from the first letters of the surnames of the founders: Ilona Majer, Rafal Michalak and Malgorzata Czudak. The last one, Malgorzata Czudak, is also a lecturer of the Department of Apparel at the ASP Lodz.

The MMC gained the mass attention in 1996 as the White Collection was presented with the unique hand-painted shoes. Their style can be determined as the urban grunge with a modern sense of leeway, all finished with the precise tailoring and avant – garde, high – quality construction. Right after graduating at the ASP* in Lodz Lukasz Jemiol gained a lot of prestigious prices and awards such as The Golden Thread, the Oskary Fashion de Luxe prêt-a-porter, the Moda Folk and the Projekt ASP. Twice honored with the scholarship by the Ministry of Culture and Art for the achievements in the fashion industry.

Jemiol’s collections are strictly wearable, modern and elegant with a clear sense of youngness and lightness. He mixes up successfully different fabrics and colors in an avant-garde and modest way at the same time, such as shining leather with kashmire, greys and beiges juxtaposed with intensive oranges or lemons.

Starting in 2009, Jemiol’s creations are accompanied with vintage, self-made accessories set up from old coins and cordages. Well applaused by Anja Rubik, with whom he’s been cooperating for the last two years. The award – winning label paprocki&brzozowski was established in 2000 by Marcin Paprocki and Mariusz Brzozowski, the graduates of the ASP Lodz in Textile Art and Fashion Design. Dawid Wolinski

Born 1977, Wolinski gained a complete art education beginning with the artistic high school, the ASP Lodz and ending up at the School of Fashion and Costume Design in Warsaw. He debuted with the first collection in October 2003 and soon gained an applauded following at Lisboa FW for the ss 2005 line.

Wolinski’s lines are appreciated for the incandescent luxury and perfect work . He’s been known for keeping the people he dresses in an ultra elegance, classic but modern way. Wolinski himself is often listed among the best dressed men by the fashion and lifestyle magazines. Maja Ganszyniec gained a complex education in the field of design, beginning with the five – year master program in Interior Architecture at the ASP Cracow, Politecnico di Milano and ending with the two year program in Product Design at the Royal College of Art.

Pawel Grunert

Born 1965 in Warsaw, Grunert studied at the Faculty of Interior Architecture at the ASP Warsaw, where he graduated with distinction in 1990 with the work My private chairs. He creates many objects that combine both the way the furniture is supposed to be used and the way a design one is supposed to impress the senses.

Grunert participated in several exhibitions in Poland and abroad, such as the HOME/1993, OBJECTS/1995, SHOWING IN A FACTORY/1997, MEBLARIUM 1/2002, OPERA GALLERY/2003). Graduated in Clinical Psychology, Klimas started her designer’s career in 1995 when she took over her family apparel business. She then began designing and soon her creations have become the favorites of the young, active and high – demanding women. She used to say the modern and urban esthetics is the brand’s identification mark. Her clothes are well constructed, deprived of all unnecessary decorations and made of only the best – quality fabrics.

Klimas’ definition of fashion is strictly wearable. She has been twice awarded in the 90s. by the readers of Elle magazine. Beginning 1998, Rosati has made her way with the glamorous evening dresses and soon opened her own commercial brand Teresa Rosati Fashion Studio.

Her dresses and red – carpet style gowns are defined by the ultra elegant, glamorous cuts and colors applying only the high quality fabrics and accessories. Always coming up with the new inspirations, she remains constantly fascinated with the idea of the self – conscious woman at the same time. Rage Age by Rafal Czapul

Beginning as an assistant designer of Vistula, Rafał soon proved his talent and became the head designer of Vistula in 2002. He left the company in 2008, leaving behind 14 collections and successful collaborations with Porsche, Ferrari , Lamborghini and the successful campaign starring Pierce Brosnan in 2007.

In 2009 Rafał Czapul and the ex-Vistula CEO Rafał Bauer established the new brand Rage Age by Rafał Czapul. The first collection presented at the end of 2009 turned out to be a great commercial success and defined in a clear way the image of the brand. The man created by Rage Age mixes up the modernity and freshness with a sense of classic vintage. ADDED VALUE in Shanghai

Within the promotion of Polish economy on the Expo 2010 World Fair in Shanghai prepared by the Polish Agency for Enterprise Development, The Institute of Industrial Design presented an exhibition entitled “Added Value. Design from Poland” and prepared three one-day seminars on Design management. The seminars took place on May 24, 25 and 26. Their aim was to show modern Polish economy and Polish cities, which development is based on Design and creative business, the promotion of increasing the competitiveness of Polish firms by means of Design on the basis of good experience in Polish firms, presentation of the achievements and creative techniques of recognized Polish industrial Designers and enable cooperation establishment between Polish and Chinese business thanks to use the potential of industrial Design. The topic of the first seminar was “The value added of Design”, the second was entitled “Staff education for creative industries” and the third - “Creative Polish city”.
The “Added Value” exhibition, showing the best products of Polish Designers in seven categories (Nativeness, the Potential of the Industry, Aesthetics, Engineering, Universal Design, Ergonomics, Digital Technologies) promoted the potential of Polish Design thought in the areas of both products and services and the possibility of creating them. The exhibition was organized as part of The Institute of Industrial Design key project “Design your profit. The improvement of firm competitiveness by applying Design”.

arena DESIGN is an event dedicated to modern design and architecture, focusing especially on the links between design and business. The event is to create a platform for dialogue and cooperation between entrepreneurs, designers and architects. This year, arena DESIGN will be held simultaneously with the first moodFORM Design Fair.

arena DESIGN has been divided into five zones: FORUM, TOP DESIGN, CREATIVES, EDUCATION and KNOWLEDGE. Each of them offers the participants diverse opportunities for presenting their products and achievements in industrial design and architecture.

International stars in FORUM zone

Many renowned guests have already confirmed their participation in arena DESIGN. One of the most creative and appreciated designers of this generation will be a special guest. Karim Rashid, author of over 3,000 designs in mass production and winner of over 300 awards has prepared a special presentation for arena DESIGN. It is entitled: "Design changes the world". The design legend will answer the participants' questions directly after the lecture and at a press conference.

Li Edelkoort, an internationally renowned trend forecaster, former Rector of the Design Academy in Eindhoven and winner of many prestigious awards will also visit the show. Li Edelkoort was identified as one of 25 most influential people in the world of fashion by TIME Magazine.

Talks and panel discussions in FORUM zone

FORUM is a place for meeting renowned designers and architects. A rich programme of talks and discussion panels will be the main attraction of the event. Interesting topics will be tackled every day. Designers and entrepreneurs will discuss the desired model of cooperation between business and design. Experts who are involved in design promotion and economic education of companies will talk about how to create and launch well-designed products. Professors from academies of arts and universities of technologies will meet with graduates to discuss two sides of the same teaching model. We will learn if the current system is sufficient for future young designers or if they expect a different educational model.

TOP DESIGN zone

The second edition of TOP DESIGN award competition will be held at arena DESIGN 2010. The jury held its meeting for the first stage of the competition on 22 April 2010. A jury including 6 jurors and chaired by Paweł Balcerzak, vice-president of the Association of Industrial Designers selected products nominated to the second stage of the competition.

The best products entered into the competition will be presented on the special TOP DESIGN area. The competition aims at disseminating the best design solutions and promoting the achievements of producers and industrial designers.

CREATIVES, EDUCATION and KNOWLEDGE zones

CREATIVES will present examples of professional design by experienced designers and architects, as well as new creative design solutions offered by a young generation of junior designers. This zone will be enriched by presentations of institutions and associations that support design development.

EDUCATION will offer numerous student initiatives. It will be a great opportunity to see the potential and achievements of the European higher education institutions in relation to design.

KNOWLEDGE will present a wide range of magazines and books on industrial design and architecture. The offer will be enriched by presentations of the latest applications, devices, technologies and specialist materials for designers and architects.

Jaroszewska is considered as one of most talented designers In Poland. Her fashion is extremely feminine and described as “bespoke” by many of her clients. Graduated from the Faculty of Interior Architecture and Industrial Design at the ASP Poznan in 1995, Dorota has continued her studies in Rome, Italy, where she gained a lot of practical experiences and started many notable collaborations. Dorota collaborated with Alessandro Mendini and the Atelier Mendini in Milan for 10 years. Minge is the only polish fashion designer that holds the international title of "Next Couture" and is considered as a trend-setter. Eva Minge has been one of the most recognizable designers both in and outside Poland in recent years. She arouses extreme emotions both at home and in the world. Her brand is unique and distinctive, and cannot be confused with any other. The women created by Eva Minge is believed to be strong, modern, extremely self – conscious but clearly feminine at the same time. She is actually dressing the Miss Poland 2010 Agata Szewioła.

Her collections were shown on many prestigious places in the world, such as the Spanish Steps in Rome, Paris Fashion Week and finally, beginning in 2010, she got her name included in the regular calendar of the New York Fashion Week. Her designs sell very well in New York and a considerable part of Europe. Beside the womenswear, she is also creating the label Eva Minge Young for children and the new menswear line is under construction. Lex Drewinski - honorary member of STGU

Prof. Lex Drewinski (born 1951, Szczecin) studied in Art Academy in Poznan (1976-1981) and made his diploma in prof. Waldemar Swierzy workshop. From 1981 to 1985 he worked as poster designer and animated cartoon director. After emigration to West Germany in 1985 he studied digital graphics. In 1992 he became a profesor of University of Applied Sciences in Postdam where he has been running an independent workshop of graphic design. In 2008 he obtained a doctor's degree in fine arts.
From 1985 he has taken part in the most important poster exhibitions in the world, has prepared over 50 individual exhibitions around the world and has won over 130 prices.
